Small business IT support in Manitoba

The everyday IT that keeps a business running — explained in plain English, fixed remotely or in person.

Most small businesses do not need a full IT department. They need one person who picks up the phone when the email stops working, the printer disappears off the network, or a laptop that used to be fast now takes four minutes to open a spreadsheet. That is the gap I fill for businesses around Morris and across Manitoba.

Day to day that means computer repair and tune-ups, virus and malware removal, setting up new desktops and laptops and moving everything across from the old one, getting printers and Wi-Fi working reliably, and sorting out the file storage so the important things are actually backed up somewhere other than the machine under the desk.

Microsoft 365 is a large part of the work. I set up business email on your own domain, migrate existing mail and contacts across without losing anything, configure Outlook, OneDrive and Teams on every device, and right-size your licences so you are not paying for seats and features nobody uses. If you are not sure what you are currently subscribed to, that is a common starting point and usually the first place savings turn up.

The part clients mention most is the explanation. You will hear what went wrong and what I did about it in language that makes sense, along with an honest opinion about whether a machine is worth repairing or whether the money is better spent replacing it. Support is remote when that is quickest, and on site around Morris when it is not.

How it works

STEP 1

Tell me what is wrong

Call or email a description of the problem. Most issues can be diagnosed in a short conversation.

STEP 2

Remote or on site

I connect remotely where possible and come to you around Morris when hands-on work is needed.

STEP 3

Fixed and explained

The problem gets solved, you hear what caused it in plain English, and you know what to watch for next time.

Common questions

Do you charge by the hour or by the job?

Both, depending on the work. Repairs and support are hourly with the rate agreed before I start, while projects like an email migration are quoted as a flat price.

Do you come on site or work remotely?

Whichever is faster for the problem. Software issues are usually solved remotely the same day; hardware, networking and new setups are done on site around Morris and across Manitoba.

Can you help with Microsoft 365 licensing?

Yes. I set up, migrate and manage Microsoft 365 for small businesses, and regularly find clients paying for licences or seats they no longer use.
